Peace, peace, and only peace

Adapted from my email newsletter of April 11.

I missed writing to you in March… but I was grateful to see so many of you at my Springtime offerings. Thanks to each of you for all of the ways you accompany me in this work of creating a more liberated and compassionate world.

If you’ve ever attended one of my events, you might know that I end nearly all of my meditations in the exact same way: by inviting everyone to join me in sending out a silent wish that the entire universe and all beings everywhere know peace, peace, and only peace. I've made this wish enough times that sometimes, while I’m going about my day, the words will just pop into my mind.

Recently I’ve been hearing them repeat themselves with more urgency. And I’m reminded each time that the pursuit of peace isn’t passive. Peace has to be worked for, returned to, chosen again and again. And our efforts to cultivate peace in our own hearts aren't separate from our efforts to cultivate it outwardly — they're part of how the peace we long to see in the world becomes possible. This month I want to share two offerings to support us with doing that work.

April 16, 9am PT: Listening as a Presence Practice — A live event

My first offering is a free, live event called Listening as a Presence Practice. At this event, we'll explore bringing the quality of awareness that we cultivate in meditation into how we listen. This makes listening more than just a communication skill, but also an essential element of peace work.

You can join the live event on April 16 at 9am PT on Insight Timer here: https://insig.ht/EY5Egxope2b

Available now: Mindful Communication: Presence as the Foundation of Relationship — A course

My second offering is a five-part course released just a few hours ago on Insight Timer called Mindful Communication: Presence as the Foundation of Relationship. This course is built around the idea that mindful communication skills are at the core of creating more peaceful relationships with ourselves and others. Each lesson includes a short teaching and a guided meditation designed to support you with carrying what you’ve learned in that lesson into your daily life.

If you’re an Insight Timer Plus member, you can find the course here: https://insighttimer.com/meditation-courses/mindful-communication-presence-as-the-foundation-of-relationship

(And if you aren’t an Insight Timer Plus member but would like access to the course, you can sign up for a 7-day free trial here.)

Stay connected

Even if you're not able to join me for either of these offerings, I'd love for you to follow me on Insight Timer. It supports my work there, and it also means you'll be among the first to know when I release something new.

As always, I appreciate your support and I'm grateful you're here.

Wishing you peace, peace, and only peace.
