As the year comes to a close…

Adapted from my email newsletter of December 17.

I’ve experienced many memorable firsts this year. I hiked over glaciers in Alaska. I witnessed dozens of thunderous summer lightning storms in the Midwestern United States. I sat with history and remembrance at the Assin Manso River in Ghana. I kayaked at night through glowing bioluminescence in Northern California’s Tomales Bay, while owls hooted overhead. And now, here we are, with the year coming to a close.

Me at the banks of the Assin Manso River near Cape Coast, Ghana.

As we move through these holy days, I want to wish you warmth, rest, and whatever kind of gentleness this time of year makes possible for you. I know this season can hold joy and tenderness all at once, and I’m holding you in that complexity.

No matter how we’ve crossed paths — whether through teaching, coaching, conversation, or community — it’s been my intention that all I share be rooted in presence: in slowing down, listening inwardly, and meeting ourselves and one another with a little more care. That orientation still feels true for me, and as we move into the new year, it continues to guide how I show up and what I offer.

If you’d like to continue practicing presence together, I’m offering monthly meditations and live gatherings on the meditation website and app Insight Timer. You can learn more here: https://insighttimer.com/attunedliving. My next free live event there is a Winter Solstice meditation scheduled for Monday, December 22 at 9am PT. If you’re interested in other ways we might work together, you can visit my website here: https://www.attunedliving.com/.

I’m also intending to send email newsletters about once a month in 2026. In them, I expect to share what I’m up to, what’s unfolding in my work, and where we might meet next. And I’m always happy to hear back from you, too. If you’d like reach out or join my mailing visit, please visit my Connect page.

Thank you for being here. I’m grateful for our continued connection, even across quiet stretches.
