About Your Private Yoga Therapy Sessions
Before beginning your private sessions, we will have an initial phone intake to get acquainted, talk about your goals, and answer any questions you might have. This intake will allow me to develop a treatment plan grounded in recovery principles and designed to meet your unique physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs. If we choose to work together, we will set up a regular time for follow-ups and assessments (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). Your private sessions may include any one of the following practices:
Personalized for your level of yoga experience, physical ability, and physical symptoms, your private sessions can include yoga poses and other movements designed to unite body, mind, and spirit; reinforce your recovery; and support your recovery lifestyle.
Proper breathing increases vitality and mental clarity, helps to regulate emotions, and is essential to good health overall. Your private sessions can include breathing practices and exercises that replenish your brain and other vital organs with essential nutrients.
Together we will identify and create a plan to remove any obstacles standing between you and your recovery and sobriety, including any cravings, sense of lack, anxiety, depression, trauma symptoms, self-esteem issues, and self-defeating thinking and behaviors.
Diet & Nutrition
The foods that we eat have a profound affect our bodies and minds. Together we can explore your relationship with food and create a diet that supports you in attaining a high standard of health, keen intellect, and serenity of mind.
Your session may include Integrative Restoration (iRest) Yoga Nidra, a transformative practice of deep relaxation and meditative inquiry. Research has shown that iRest effectively reduces risk of relapse in those seeking treatment for recovery from chemical dependency.
