About Yoga and Recovery Classes
Whether it's your first yoga class or you have been practicing for years, whether you are standing on a mat or sitting in a chair, you are welcome to attend any of the Yoga and Recovery classes listed below. During class I offer instruction and modifications so that all students can meet their individual needs.
Yoga and Recovery classes focus on recovery principles such as acceptance, honesty, surrender, self-awareness, humility, and service. They also focus on those principles of yoga philosophy that expand the recovery experience, including non-harming, mindfulness, and the union of body, mind, and spirit. The classes generally begin with a short chant followed by 12 to 20 gentle yoga postures. Classes conclude with a deep relaxation, breathing exercises, and a short meditation.
